| We believe in one God: The Father Almighty, maker of heaven,
earth, and all things visible and invisible; (1 Tim. 2:5)
in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, Our Lord, who is one
substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; (Colossians
1:15-18) and in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who was sent
from the Father and the Son, and who together with the Father
and Son is worshipped and glorified. (1 John 14:15-17; Acts
2: 4)
We believe that man was made in the image of God that he
might know, love and enjoy Him forever; that our first parents
by disobedience fell under the righteous condemnation of God;
and that all men are so alienated form God that there is no
salvation from the guilt and power of sin except through God's
redeeming grace. (Titus 2:11; Gen. 1:27; Romans 5:11)
We believe that God would have all men return to Him and
that to this end He has made Himself known through the works
of nature, the course of His providence, the consciences of
men, and through supernatural revelations made especially
to a chosen people, and above all, in the fullness of time,
through Jesus Christ His Son. (2 Peter 3:9; Romans 1:18-20;
Romans 3:1-2; Gal 4:4-5)
We believe that the Church is mystical union of all believers,
with Christ as the Head, called into being by Him and His
body for the salvation of human-kind and the transformation
of the world through the preaching of the word, the observance
of the sacraments and ordinances, the fellowship of believers,
and prophetic witness to the coming of God's kingdom upon
the earth. (Romans 12:4; Eph 5:23; Col 2:19)
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and the New Testaments
are the record of God's self-revelation in the work of redemption,
that they were written by men under the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, that they are the authoritative standard by which
Christian teaching and conduct are to be regulated and judged.
(2 Timothy 3:15, 1 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that the love of God to sinful men has found its
highest expression in the redemptive work of His Son, who
became man, uniting His divine nature with our human nature
in one person, who was tempted like other men without committing
sin, who by His obedience, His humiliation, His suffering,
His death on the cross, His resurrection, and His ascension
and intercession became a perfect redeemer whose sacrifice
of himself for the sins of the world declares the righteousness
of God and is the sole and sufficient ground of forgiveness
of sin and reconciliation with God. (Galatians 3:13; Hebrews
2:6; 4:15)
We believe that after Jesus was raised from the dead, He
ascended into heaven as the one mediator between God and mankind,
and that He carries forward His work of saving men, that He
sends the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sin and to
lead them to repentance and faith, and that those who through
renewing grace turn to righteousness and trust in Jesus Christ
as their redeemer receive for His sake forgiveness of sin
and are made the children of God. (Heb. 9:24; 1 Tim 2:5; Gal
1:4; John 16: 7-11; Eph 1:7)
We believe that justification is an act of God whereby all
sins are forgiven through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and
one is declared righteous before God. It comes in connection
with true repentance and includes regeneration and adoption.
(Romans 3:24-25; 5:1; Titus 3:5)
We believe that sanctification is an act of grace whereby
the believer is separated, dedicated and consecrated unto
God, body, soul, mind and spirit. This act of sanctification
may be viewed in three aspects; instantaneous, progressive,
and entire.
A. Instantaneous sanctification is an act wrought in connection
with regeneration. (John 17:17; Romans 6:22; 12:1; Hebrews
13:12,13)
B. Progressive sanctification is the process wherein the believer
continues to grow in grace. (II Corinthians 3:18; II Peter
3:18; I Peter 1:15; Hebrews 12:14; I Cor. 6:11)
C. Entire sanctification denotes a state of being sanctified:
body, soul, mind, and spirit. (I Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews
12:14)
We believe that the Holy Ghost is given upon the sanctified
life in fulfillment of the promises of Jesus. (Luke 24:49;
Acts 1: 4-8). This includes baptism by Jesus in the Holy Spirit
providing purging, initial filling, being brought under the
complete control of the Spirit in an initial act and in recurring
acts of refilling, providing power for the believer and boldness
to witness. (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 4:31; St. John 7:38,39; Matt 3:11,12)
We believe that healing is provided through the precious
atonement of Jesus. (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matt 8:17; Mark 16:18;
James 5:14-16)
We believe that Sunday, the Lord's Day, is a day of worship.
(John 20:19: Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:1-2)
We believe that there shall be a glorious appearing of the
Great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ and the establishment
of His kingdom over all the earth, and that the dead shall
be resurrected, the reward being everlasting lfie or everlasting
punishment. (Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13; Matt 25:31-46; Acts 17:31;
I Cor. 5:10; Rev 20:11-15)
